Cannabis and tetrahydrocannabinol are the two most widely used and best-known compounds in cannabis. While they are extracted from the same family of plants, these two compounds interact differently with your body.

Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a psychoactive compound. By stimulating the release of dopamine and activating cannabinoid receptors, THC can change the brain in many ways and cause a change in consciousness or a sense of euphoria.

On the other hand, CBD is a non-psychoactive compound and does not cause a change in consciousness. CBD can treat health problems such as insomnia, stress, anxiety, and depression. In combination with THC, CBD can minimise the psychotropic effects of THC by inhibiting the binding of THC to receptors. Studies show that combining the two compounds can help reduce adverse THC effects such as paranoia and increased anxiety.

Let’s take a look at the list of CBD useful properties in more details.

Benefits of CBD and CBD Oil

Scientific research indicates many health benefits for CBD, which is an integral part of medical cannabis. One of them is that cannabis has no psychoactive effects compared to THC, which is known for marijuana used for recreational purposes.

    • Insomnia

Many people have trouble falling asleep. Unfortunately, the medicines you can get from pharmacies are often addictive. They also have a side effect of being intoxicated the day after they are taken. One possible side effect of CBD oil that you can get is fatigue. In general, this is one of its advantages – it is safe and does not create any addictions.

    • Multiple Sclerosis

Recent studies have shown that cannabis not only reduces the inflammatory effects of multiple sclerosis but can also protect you from this disease for a long time. CBD oil has been used to treat mice with multiple sclerosis for about ten days. Those rodents that were given cbd oil had better progress and motor skills than those who were not addressed. Based on this study, scientists concluded that cannabidiol has the potential to reduce the harmful effects of multiple sclerosis.

    • Crohn’s disease

Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory gastrointestinal disease in different areas (from the mouth to the rectum). CBD can treat it effectively, studies have also shown. People who have Crohn’s disease have problems with the physical system that is responsible for our intestinal function. Both the CBD and THC have interaction with this system, which can alleviate intestinal problems through their anti-inflammatory properties.

    • Schizophrenia

In a recent study, CBD was compared with Amisulpride, a potent antipsychotic drug used to treat people with schizophrenia. Forty-two people approached them. Both groups proved that the patients had effective results, but there were fewer side effects of CBD oil.

    • Post-traumatic stress

When you use CBD, it may act slower than conventional medications; however, it allows you to reach the state of being calmer more effectively. It is due to the properties of the CBD, which reduce the effects of inflammation and anxiety. People who have PTSD suffer from stress and anxiety, which is difficult for them to overcome. CBD oil is something that can help stabilise patients mentally through antipsychotic effects.

    • Rabies of Cows

Prions are the proteins behind diseases such as mad cow disease and Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease, which cause the degeneration of neurological systems. CBD can prevent the formation and accumulation of prions. Back in 2007, a study on mice was conducted — the survival time of infected mice that were studied increased by an average of seven days.

    • Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is usually treated with corticosteroids, opioid painkillers, and anti-inflammatory drugs. In a study conducted back in 2011, CBD oil was used to treat fibromyalgia. Twenty-eight participants used traditional medicines, while 28 used CBD oil. Those who took conventional medicines had little improvement in pain, while those who took cannabis had less both pain and symptoms of fibromyalgia.

    • Acne

A recent study has shown that CBD can be used to treat acne. Cannabiscuitol has been applied to people’s oil glands to see how it will affect eels. It has been concluded that CBD oil can inhibit lipid synthesis, making it an effective anti-inflammatory sebostatic.

    • Cigarette addiction

Twenty-four people who smoke participated in a placebo-controlled study. They were given an inhaler drug that contained either placebo or CBD oil. Whenever smokers felt the urge to smoke a cigarette, they used the inhaler instead. Participants who had placebo inhalers still consumed the same amount of cigarettes. On the other hand, those who had CBD inhalers smoked 40% less than usual. Their nicotine draught did not increase, which indicates that CBD oil can be used during nicotine withdrawal.

    Is CBD legal?

It is a popular concern whether CBD is legal, notably the association the product has with marijuana and weed. Thankfully, in most parts of the European Union and the United States, CBD oil is perfectly legal, given that the THC concentration is below 0.2%.

It is down to the fact that even though CBD originates from hemp, it is a non-psychoactive substance. It distances CBD from the “high” that many people correlate with cannabis.

Of course, while CBD oil can be purchased from special high street stores, these products are often available at a higher price for a lower strength output. Anyone gazing for the most effective CBD or the best value for money CBD oil will find that shopping online is usually the best way to shop.
